Liposuction For Women Conveniently located to serve Atlanta and Fulton
An Essential Part of a Mommy Makeover
Many patients receive liposuction for women in Atlanta at Paramount Plastic Surgery from board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Keith Jeffords. Liposuction, or lipo, is an incredibly popular body-contouring solution that seems to be discussed daily in the media and among friends.
Areas where women commonly experience excess fat include the abdomen, back, chin, love handles, arms, legs, saddlebags, and thighs. Even at your thinnest, even after regular diet and exercise, these fat deposits may persist. Liposuction is a great way to contour away these unwanted fat bulges.

Liposuction After Pregnancy
Pregnancy is a blessing, but the excess fat and loose skin that remains after childbirth can be hard to get rid of. Liposuction is an integral part of post-pregnancy fat removal and is great for sculpting away unwanted bulges.
Post-pregnancy lipo can be performed in conjunction with other procedures like breast surgery. To address hanging skin and loose muscle tissue along with excess fat, a tummy tuck is necessary.
Sometimes women just need a “head start” in weight loss. Liposuction for women can be the motivation for continued body improvement. Often, women need that loss of a few inches to initiate motivation. If this type of fat reduction sounds ideal, consider a lipo consultation.
It is important to have realistic expectations in terms of results. The best way to get a better understanding of your potential results is by looking at liposuction for women before and after photos in our gallery.
What Are the Different Techniques for Liposuction?
There are several types of liposuction that are being marketed. The traditional tumescent liposuction remains the gold standard method for removal of fat. In this procedure, the fat layer is infiltrated with a solution containing local anesthesia, epinephrine (adrenaline), and IV fluid. This solution numbs the fat and contracts the blood vessels. It allows the surgeon to remove more fat with less risks of bleeding.
Other techniques involve tumescent techniques with additional operating time. Power Assisted Liposuction (PAL) has a mechanical handpiece that supplements the motions of the surgeon.
Ultrasound Liposuction uses heat to melt fat. Laser Assisted Lipolysis (proprietary names include SmartLipo) is done in an office setting under local anesthesia. Laser Assisted Liposuction is for SMALL volume liposuction only and often requires multiple sessions.
Our surgeons use traditional tumescent liposuction. This method is extremely safe. Other methods have risks of burning the skin, permanent numbness, and scar tissue.
With traditional tumescent liposuction, you can also use fat to enhance deficit areas like your buttocks, face, or breasts. A Brazilian buttocks lift reshapes the hips and abdomen. The suctioned fat is then injected into the buttocks for a fuller, more refined shape. You can also inject your own fat into your face or breast to enhance fullness.

Healing After Liposuction for Women
Once the lipo procedure is complete, patients must return home to rest and recover. Recovery involves wearing post-surgical elastic garments to ensure that the skin conforms to the body’s new contours.
There will be a degree of swelling and bruising in the area that was reduced in volume. These issues will be temporary and will ameliorate in time.
How Much Does Liposuction for Women Cost?
There is no one fixed cost of liposuction for women; instead, the price varies depending on the amount of fat that is removed, the number of areas reduced in volume, and the total length of the procedure. We discuss numerous financing options with patients during their consultation.
