Lip Enhancement Conveniently located to serve Atlanta and Fulton
Men and women seek lip enhancements. Some people never have full lips. Others lose lip fullness as they age. Women get wrinkles around their lips as they age. To address these issues and volumize the lips, we offer lip enhancement in Atlanta.
We are able to plump and define the lips utilizing the following techniques:
- Injections with hyaluronic acid dermal fillers
- Placement of lip implants
Lip fillers are good as a first treatment. Restylane or Juvederm can be injected into the lip to create a fuller appearance.
The body loses hyaluronic acid (HA) naturally over time due to the aging process, and these filler products are specially designed to restore HA to the tissues. HA bonds with water molecules to create new volume.
These fillers last 6 month or longer. You can inject fillers in several session to get the desired fullness. If you are unhappy with your results, we can inject hyaluronidase, an enzyme that safely dissolves HA fillers to reverse their effects.
Lip filler injection sessions are very quick and convenient, typically taking less than a half hour. This procedure is done in the office.
Our surgeons numbs the lips from inside the mouth with local anesthesia (a technique different from most medical practices). This controls bruising and pain associated with injections. Once the numbing is complete, precise injections of Restylane or Juvederm are delivered.
After a treatment session, there is no need for any sort of recovery period or downtime. There may be a mild degree of temporary bruising, swelling, or redness.
When our surgeons have determined the size and shape of your desired lip fullness, the patient can move to permanent lip implants. Our surgeons use Surgisil silicone implants to enhance lips. These implants are very natural in appearance and are soft.
This procedure is also performed in the office under local anesthesia. Very small incisions are created, and then a pocket is created for the implant. It is carefully inserted and positioned, and sutures are used to close the incisions.
Once the procedure is complete, patients return home to rest and heal. The recovery process takes around a week or two. Temporary numbness, stiffness, bruising, and swelling are normal and will ameliorate during recovery.
If dissolvable sutures were used, they will not need to be removed. If they are not dissolvable, patients return to have them removed in about ten days.
