Keith Jeffords, M.D., D.D.S. brings an unusual perspective, depth of knowledge
and experience to the practice of both plastic surgery and surgery of
the head and neck. He has studied dentistry and medicine and has trained
in multiple surgical disciplines. With his unique background, Dr. Jeffords
brings a different creativity to the practice of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Jeffords has formally trained in both Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
as well as Plastic Surgery. There are fewer than fifty surgeons in the
United States with his background.
Dr. Jeffords is able
to combine techniques from these two specialties for the benefit of his
patients. As an Aesthetic Plastic Surgeon, he seeks creative solutions
for each patient's problems. He can look at both the skeletal and soft
tissue needs of his patients and develop a surgical plan for facial reconstruction
or rejuvenation. Additionally, Dr. Jeffords has strong interests in breast
surgery and body rejuvenation.
Unique Qualifications
Dr. Jeffords is from
the metropolitan Atlanta area. He is a graduate of South Cobb High School
in Austell, Georgia. During high school, he was the Student Body President
and was involved in numerous musical activities including the Atlanta
Symphony Youth Orchestra. He received first place in the brass solo division
of the National Teen Talent Program. He attended the Georgia Governor's
Honors Program. He was the state recipient of the Danforth Award and graduated
from the American Youth Foundation's National Leadership Conferences.
Dr. Jeffords received
his B.S. in Chemistry and Biology from Lee University, Cleveland, Tennessee.
Since his graduation from Lee University, he has received awards as Alumnus
of the Year from both the Department of Natural Sciences and Upsilon Xi,
his fraternity.
Dr. Jeffords received
his D.D.S. from Emory University School of Dentistry, Atlanta, Georgia.
While at Emory, he served as President of the Dental Student Body. He
participated at a national level with the American Student Dental Association.
Dr. Jeffords served as voting delegate to the Georgia Dental Association
House of Delegates and was the recipient of numerous awards in student
leadership, research, and academics. At graduation, Emory University bestowed
the Marion Luther Brittain Award to Dr. Jeffords "as a public and
permanent expression of gratitude for service to the University without
expectation of reward or recognition". This award is the highest
University wide commendation given annually to only one Emory graduate.
After dental school,
he completed a General Practice Residency at Harvard University/ Brigham
and Women's Hospital and an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at
the University of Miami/ Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami, Florida. Dr.
Jeffords then received his M.D. from the Eastern Virginia Medical School
in Norfolk, Virginia. He completed his prerequisite training in General
Surgery at Eastern Virginia.
Dr. Jeffords completed
full residency training in the internationally renowned Plastic Surgery
program of the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He
has lectured and presented papers to many national Plastic Surgery societies.
Dr. Jeffords is board certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Jeffords is heard
frequently on the local TV and radio stations. He was a guest host on
WATC's "Atlanta Live". He has a recurring role on 96 Rock with Southside
Steve Rickman and Tim Rhodes. Dr. Jeffords has made several national TV
appearances. He has been on CNN Presents and Daystar's "Celebration with
Marcus and Joni Lamb". With actor Ron Lester, Dr. Jeffords has been seen
on Montel Williams Show, Entertainment Tonight and Discovery Health Channel.
Dr. Jeffords also serves on the National Alumni Board of Eastern Virginia
Medical School and is member of the "Grammy Award" winning Atlanta Symphony
Orchestra Chorus.
