Eyelid Surgery

Eyelid lift (or blepharoplasty) is the treatment for removing bags under the eyes and/or correction of drooping eyelids. Do you have the signs of premature aging, such as dark circles, sagging upper and lower eyelids? These aging eye conditions can add years to your appearance and even impair your vision.
A blepharoplasty can make a dramatic difference by helping you have a relaxed and youthful look. Eyelid surgery (technically called blepharoplasty) is a procedure to remove fat--usually along with excess skin and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids. Eyelid surgery can correct drooping upper lids and puffy bags below your eyes - features that make you look older and more tired than you feel, and may even interfere with your vision. However, it won't remove crow's feet or other wrinkles, eliminate dark circles under your eyes, or lift sagging eyebrows. While it can add an upper eyelid crease to Asian eyes, it will not erase evidence of your ethnic or racial heritage. Blepharoplasty can be done alone, or in conjunction with other facial surgery procedures such as a facelift or brow lift.
Eyelid surgery may be performed under local or general anesthesia. The procedure calls for a small incisions along the natural lines of your eyelids to minimize scarring. Generally, excess skin is removed from the upper and/or lower lids. I may remove fat and tighten muscle to help you attain a fresher, more alert expression. Most patients are back to their normal routine within days, although complete recovery may take a few weeks. Swelling, bruising and some discomfort are part of the recovery process, and usually can be alleviated with cold compresses and appropriate medications.
Eyelid surgery could have risks and complications that may occur due to the complexity of the operation. For more information please click here.
