Cheek implant surgery is a great procedure for when we get older. The fat pads which make up the cheeks loose their fullness, becoming flat, often falling and even vanishing.
At Paramount Plastic Surgery Center we have several ways that he can fill out the cheeks to give more fullness and definition to the face. One way is using fat injections to plump up the depressed areas. In some cases an implant may be inserted. This requires a small incision inside the mouth. A pocket is created over the cheekbone where the implant will be placed. The entry area is then closed with dissolving tissues. After surgery the cheeks will be stiff and numb for several days. Chewing may be uncomfortable and antibiotics usually are prescribed. Surgery lasts roughly one hour and is performed under local sedation at our Paramount Plastic Surgery Center.
